Craters of the Sac is a semi-official MP3-only album by Ween. Although it appears in Ween's chronology as being released after Paintin' the Town Brown (1999) and before White Pepper (2000), at least one song ("Put the Coke on My Dick") came out of the Mollusk sessions of 1997. Suckin' Blood From The Devil's Dick originated from the Pandy Fackler tape from the late 1980s.

Mickey just released these demos and outtakes from "quebec" a few days ago. Text below as written by Deaner himself.
ween-caesar (we were calling this record that until the last moment when we decided to change the title to "quebec")

well what can i say about this here, lemme see. the first thing that comes to mind is that all the while we were doing this we still had claude coleman on drums, he eventually got into a major car wreck and wasn't around when it finally came time to make the "real" record. instead the drum duties fell on me, josh freese, and sim cain for a couple of tunes. almost all of this was recorded at our beach house in holgate, nj onto 16 track tape. a tiny bit of it was recorded in the garage behind aaron's house in pt. pleasant, pa. some of it was recorded in the spare bedroom of my house in new hope. most of the tunes are just me and aaron, with the two of us playing everything, with me on drums. the songs with claude, dave, and glenn are pretty obvious. on just a few tunes we took what you hear here and cleaned them up and had andrew weiss mix them for the record after some overdubs. dave sings on "it's gonna be a long night", this was days before he had surgery to remove polyps in his throat and his voice was really rough so we figured he was the guy for the job. This isn't even all of the tunes that we ended up choosing from, just the ones i happened to burn to cd before we drove home from the beach every week. hope you dig it for what it is.
How much are you wishing this was titled ‘Boards of Canada Live mix’? Well don’t be dissapointed. This mix is a stunning tribute to the legends that are BOC, neatly put together by Skywave Systems. Not happy with simply mixing their best tracks, Skywave get busy sampling, looping and including some very rare remixes.
As posted by Z-Trip himself:

"I was stoked and humbled when asked to do this mix. I've been a fan of The Beasties since I first heard Mr Magic interview them on WBLS in NY. I included some of my favorites as well as stuff off the new album. All remixed.

It's a Trip, it's gotta funky beat, and you can bug out to it.
Peace,

Factoid #1 - This is a real Beasties, Z-Trip fan.

Factoid #2- Z-Trip uses a bit of the WBLS show he first heard the Beasties on in the megamix.

Factoid #3- Z-Trip had the opening slot on the Beasties/Rage Against The Machine tour in 2000. Then RATM went on hiatus and the tour was canceled.
"Document 4 was delivered to Universal records in 2008 but never released. All plans were in place for a double pack of Document 1 with Document 4 to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the first Document mix CD but I think they were more interested in shifting more Amy Winehouse CD's at the end of the day so it was shelved!!. I'm pretty sure this will be the last Document mix as I cant put new & old music together as there just isn't enough new stuff that passes the 'Andy Smith' filter nowadays (but lots of old stuff, hence the new 'Jam Up Twist' CD - That's where its at for me these days!) Enjoy the last Document mix for free. Thanks for your support since 1998 and for all who saw me as a DJ in my own right rather than 'that DJ from Portishead' ! - Do catch my 'Jam Up Twist' nights around the UK & 'Lost & Found' at Madame Jo Jo-'s in Soho, London every Saturday"

This is a live all 45 mix made with one turntable and a loop pedal. It was constructed for Red Bull’s 45 night on October 27 2008 in LA. This mix includes some cutting room floor ideas from The Hard Sell (DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist on 8 turntables and two loop pedals) and elements from what would later be part of my one turntable/loop pedal live mix CD “Sound Of The Police”, which is out now. Hit it at the jump and enjoy.
I don't know a whole lot about this album but I think it was made when the band split and there was some legal wrangling over who could use the name. This "other side of war" is much lighter, understated outing than any of their previous albums. Check out his site for more quality posts.

“…The second volume in the BBE label’s Strange Games and Funky Things series somehow manages to improve on the excellence of its predecessor, maintaining a perfect balance between superstar favorites and rare groove obscurities. Any record which successfully sequences Jose Feliciano, Donald Byrd, and the Sugarhill Gang back-to-back is clearly working on a different level altogether — the ebb and flow of the disc is remarkable, shifting easily from uptown soul to urban funk to soul-jazz and back again. The majority of tracks come from the late ’70s and early ’80s, and blur the line between funk, disco, and rap — some were hits (like Rick James’ stunning “Mary Jane”), most weren’t, but all are given new life. The collection’s highlight is its closer, Marvin Gaye’s long-unreleased “It’s a Desperate Situation,” a record every bit as brilliant and searing as any of his familiar Motown hits of the late ’60s…”

01. The first three songs are performed by Kyuss and the last three songs by guitarist Josh Homme's next band, Queens of the Stone Age. It includes a cover of the song "Into the Void" by Black Sabbath from their album Master of Reality. "If Only Everything" is an early version of the song "If Only", which appeared on Queens of the Stone Age's eponymous debut album. A re-recorded version of "Born to Hula" appeared as a b-side on one edition of the "Lost Art of Keeping a Secret" single release, and later as a track on the Stone Age Complications EP while this one includes backing vocals by former Kyuss lead singer John Garcia. "Spiders and Vinegaroons" was used as the menu theme for the live DVD/CD release, Over the Years and Through the Woods. "Fatso Forgotso" and "Fatso Forgotso Phase II (Flip the Phase)" were later re-released on Muchas Gracias: The Best of Kyuss.

I posted this a few years ago but the links got pulled; which surprised me as the album has been out-of-print for years. So naturally, we were geeked to get our hands on Confessions Of A Beat Junkie, a promo tape Tommy Boy put out in ‘97. The 35-minute blend of b-sides, unreleased stuff, famous works, and many skits don’t disappoint—especially if you’re familiar with Paul’s work. Not much info exists, so I wrote Paul and asked him to introduce the tape for us. Here’s his response:
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed the tape. I made this for Tommy Boy as a promo item in the late ’90s to reintroduce myself to the public. It was to launch off the reissue of Psychoanalysis and a new project, A Prince Among Thieves. I just wanted to make something different from the old traditional mixtape that was out at the time. I had my friends and mom do little intro pieces to the songs.

I wanted to make it appear like I was this elusive, eclectic guy, and they were describing my work to those who weren’t familiar with me. The photo [on the back] is a picture of my son when he was about 3 or 4. He was always facinated with the turntables now he’s a DJ himself at 17. I put a lot of work into that tape, I’m glad that it’s still being enjoyed. Thanks again.
Henry Krinklehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13960482531532857345noreply@blogger.com6
